As a licensed therapist specializing in work with Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ individuals, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine understanding to our work together. Whether you’re exploring identity, navigating relationship questions, processing grief or trauma, managing anxiety or depression, or simply wanting to live more intentionally—I’m here to support you.

I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches (CBT, IFS, trauma-informed care) while honoring your unique story and values. Our work together is confidential, affirming, and grounded in the belief that you already have the wisdom you need—sometimes you just need help accessing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be helpful if you’re experiencing persistent emotional distress, facing major life transitions, struggling with relationships, processing trauma, or simply wanting to understand yourself better. If you’re unsure, a consultation call can help clarify whether therapy would be beneficial.

What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy addresses mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional difficulties. It’s clinical treatment focused on healing and psychological wellbeing.

Coaching focuses on professional development and leadership effectiveness. It’s not treatment for mental health issues.

I offer both services separately with clear boundaries. This therapy practice follows all clinical ethical standards and licensure requirements.

How long does therapy take?

It varies. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (8-16 sessions) focused on specific issues. Others engage in longer-term work (6 months to years) for deeper healing or complex concerns. We’ll discuss your goals and timeline together.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed is confidential and protected by law. The only exceptions are: (1) if you’re in danger of harming yourself or others, (2) if there’s suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or (3) if required by court order. These situations are rare, and I would discuss them with you first when possible.

Do you accept insurance?

I’m an in-network provider in many insurance plans and bill directly in Washington and Maryland, and an out-of-network provider with others (meaning I don’t bill insurance directly). When needed, I provide "superbills" (detailed receipts) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many insurance plans cover out-of-network mental health services at 50-80%. My practice will check your benefits before our first session.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your history, current concerns, and goals. I’ll explain how therapy works and answer your questions. There’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to discuss. It’s also an opportunity for you to decide if I’m the right therapist for you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be charged the full session fee. Emergencies are always understandable—just communicate as soon as you can.

What if therapy isn’t helping?

Please bring this up. Sometimes therapy feels stuck, and that’s important to discuss. We can adjust our approach, or I can refer you to another therapist who might be a better fit. Your wellbeing is what matters most, even if that means working with someone else.
